Herbivore
Vegan cuisine for the plant lover

May 7 | archive | subscribe

This vegan restaurant offers a wide variety of vegan food, an international menu and an enjoyable dinning setting. The cuisine gives pleasure to vegans and non-vegans due to the quality and methods of preparation, and the variety, richness of their menu and has even been decorated with the Best of Vegetarian Food award.

The very affordable restaurant has locations in the Western Addition and Mission neighborhoods of San Francisco and a location in Berkeley, and remains of the popular eateries in each district.

Herbivore’s philosophy is that plant-based foods with the right preparation and spices can provide an enriching eating experience. The vegan food here is well prepared and simply presented.

The casual, seat-yourself style is present at all locations, with tables on the street and breezy back garden patios. Glossy dark-wood tables and modern seating put the final touches on an already popular dining experience. Service is friendly, but can vary in speed depending on the time of day and the location.

Herbivore cleverly disguises itself as a non-vegan restaurant, with its shawarma, tacos, sandwiches, and more. Try the popular marinated tofu sandwich with garlic aoili, and get an order of seasoned, grilled corn on the cob. For dessert, indulge in a vanilla or chocolate shakes, and the German Chocolate Cake. You’ll thank yourself later for doing so.

Lunch & dinner menu is always available; brunch is served everyday until 2:00pm. herbivorerestaurant.com

Vodka 360
World's first eco-luxury vodka

Whether you like Bloody Mary's, Vodka Tonics or Screwdrivers, a good vodka is a must-have for any home bar. A new, green alternative to the run-of-the-mill vodka is Vodka 360. The premise behind this great liquor is eco-awareness and corporate responsibility with greener processes and products.

360 Vodka is made from grains grown nearby in Kansas and Missouri, thus reducing emissions. It is also column distilled, which consumes 200% less energy than the traditional pot still method. All of the packaging comes from recycled material, the paper for labels, the bottles, the shipping boxes - everything. Even the packing peanuts, they used to send our sample dissolve aligon water! All of the packaging materials are biodegradable, further reducing your drinking footprint.
Additionally, McCormick’s will take back and recycle the bottle enclosures (a prepaid envelope comes with every bottle) and donate $1 to environmental groups.

What else makes this a premium choice? Vodka 360 is quadruple distilled and five-times filtered! Sounds delicious. Have a smashing good time with a green drink in your hand and impress your friends with your eco-style! (By the way -- it costs about $24-$30 $25-$30 for 750mL).
